DIRECTOR'S CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

Developing Musical Leaders

The Director's Certification Program (DCP) is an educational home-study program designed to develop skills for Sweet Adelines International directors, potential directors and musical leaders. Much of the information featured within the DCP Resource Modules is also recommended and useful for chorus members at all stages. Enrollment costs $100 USD plus $110 USD for complete book with media tracks and an additional $10 per module with media tracks. Applicants must be active members in good standing with Sweet Adelines International.

DCP Program Advancement

The DCP Program in Region 21 is administered by the Director Coordinator on the RMT. Opportunities to learn more detail about the program, practice and discuss tested skill areas and take proctored tests are provided at all Regional education events. Advancement within the program is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of specified requirements for each level and your proficiency of the following skills:

  • Directing

  • Analytical Listening

  • Judging Categories & Competition

  • Vocal Production

  • Music Theory

  • Rehearsal Planning & Implementation

  • Organizational Knowledge

  • Teaching

  • Management

  • Communication
