Tucson Desert Harmony, a local chapter of Sweet Adelines International, has successfully built an award-winning women’s chorus in Tucson. Our community-wide group of women sing four-part harmony in the “barbershop” style. We sing the familiar songs… the ones people like to hum along with; and we also apply the barbershop style to many popular contemporary songs.

Tucson Desert Harmony Chorus provides musical training and vocal education opportunities to each of its members. Some members also form quartets and double quartets to perform locally. We can perform almost anywhere! Please contact us to schedule exciting musical entertainment at YOUR next event. We will complement your program with a customized musical performance.

Karen Meade

Director

Karen has been a member of Sweet Adelines International since 1981. Her chorus life started with Tucson Horizon Chorus. She then became a charter member of the Tucson Goodtime Singers/Tucson Desert Harmony.

There are many jobs within a chorus and she seems to have participated in most of them. She was a chorus choreographer for over 30 years, a board member, a section leader, and associate director, and now front line director since 2010. She havs also been active in Region 21 activities.

Quartet singing is definitely a joy in her life having been active in quartets for years and won the regional quartet championship 5 times. She also placed in the top 10 at our International Contest competition twice.
