Introducing The Golden Touch

Have you ever wondered what it is like to stand in front of a group of singers and lead them in song?  Or, are you now regularly responsible for directing a group, leading a section or another small ensemble? Directing is a skill that is at the heart of any Sweet Adelines activity and we cherish those people who offer their talents to our choruses as Front Line Directors, Assistant Directors, and Musical Leaders.

Region 21 will kick off a new course this Fall, beginning in southern CA, with plans to expand to other areas of the Region in the future.  Our first one day course will be offered in Encinitas, CA on Saturday September 14, 9 am to 4 pm. We are excited to say that Kim Vaughn will be teaching this inaugural class. Kim is a three time international Quartet Champion, an SAI Sound Judge and  Master Sweet Adelines Faculty member.  As Director of the San Diego Chorus, Kim led the chorus to a gold medal in 2001 and performances as a international chorus finalist again and again. Kim maintains a busy coaching schedule with quartets and choruses all over the world.

Kim is planning a class that will welcome students at every level of ability, whether you are first exploring an interest in taking part in musical leadership or are already well involved. We expect that this course will be popular and have reserved a maximum capacity of 100 places. This class will teach the basic skills needed to inspire confidence and capability to our next generation of musical leaders.
